Bowling Concludes Opening Weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. - TSU bowling wrapped its season-opening weekend at the Destination Orlando Tournament on Sunday.

Youngstown State defeated TSU 861-832 in the first match on Sunday to close out traditional match play. TSU opened bracket play against Alabama A&M and fell 4-1 before ending the day with a 4-1 loss to Valparaiso to finish 20th overall.

Zaniya McClain was the top bowler for TSU as she finished 47th overall with an average of 182. Xiani Carpenter was next as she bowled an average of 177.2 to finish 51st. Raivyn Summers (179.5) and Haley Fujiwara (179.0) finished 3-4 on the team as their average was based on four games.

TSU is back in action this weekend in Houston at the TRACK Kat Klash hosted by Sam Houston State at Emerald Bowl. The event kicks off Friday and concludes Sunday.
