MONTGOMERY, Texas – The Texas Southern men's golf team teed up their spring season and posted a two-round total of 612 following the opening rounds of the Bentwater Intercollegiate hosted by Sam Houston State University on Monday.
Freshman Javier Vasquez leads the way for the Tigers following his 6-over-par 148 (73 – 75) day one finish. Vasquez recorded six birdies, 20 pars, and 10 bogeys or worse on the day. Junior Bradley Lavinier is three shots back on 151 (74 – 77), while freshman Bhum Juangsiribhumseth carded a 158 (82-76) while senior Ravepon Kosalutta posted a 159 (83-76), respectively.
The Bentwater Intercollegiate is held at the Bentwater Yacht & Country Club on the Miller Course. The final round of the tournament commences on Tuesday at 8 a.m.
