MATHEWS, La. – The Texas Southern Men's Golf team is in 10th place following their 596 (303 – 293) during the opening rounds of the LaTour Intercollegiate of Fame hosted by Nicholls State University on Monday.
Junior Bradley Lavinier leads the way for the Tigers with his three-over-par 147 (76 – 71). Lavinier posted a 1-under-par second round that consisted of five birdies, 10 pars, and three bogeys or higher.
Freshman Javier Vazquez finished two strokes back on 149 (72 – 77) while sophomore Yashal Shah (78 – 74) and senior Ravepon Kosalutta (77 – 75) are tied with a total of 152. Sophomore Ricardo Pham posted a 1-over par 73 second round and freshman Bhum Juangsiribhumseth, although playing as an individual, posted an even par 72 second round.
The Tigers' final round of the LaTour Intercollegiate will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday at LaTour Golf Club in Mathews, La.
The 2025 field is made up of 14 teams that include Loyola University, Spring Hill College, University of New Orleans, Southern University, Houston Christian University, University of the Incarnate Word, Southeastern Louisiana University, Nicholls State University, Prairie View A&M University, Midland College, East Texas A&M University, University of South Dakota, Texas Southern University, and Jackson State University.
