MATHEWS, La. – The Texas Southern men's golf team posted a two-under par final round of 286 to move up to 8th place overall at the LaTour Intercollegiate hosted by Nicholls State University on Tuesday. The Tigers recoded a 54-hole total of 882 (303 – 293 - 286) for the tournament.
Sophomore Yashal Shah posted a PR, 4-under-par final round of 68 to finish T37 overall on 220 (78 – 74 – 68). Shah's final round included five birdies, 12 pars, and a single bogey. He also recorded an eagle during his second round yesterday.
Freshman Javier Vazquez also finished tied for 37th on a 220 (72 – 77 – 71). Vazquez's birdie on his last hole propelled him to a 1-under-par round of 71. He also recorded an eagle yesterday during his first round. Junior Bradley Lavinier finished two strokes back on 222 (76 – 71 – 75), and his highlight for the event was his 1-under-par second round. Sophomore Ricardo Pham finished on 225 (80 – 73 – 72) while senior Ravepon Kosalutta was three strokes back on 228 (77 – 75 – 76).
Freshman Bhum Juangsiribhumseth played as an individual and carded a 229 (82 – 72 – 75) respectively.
The 2025 field was made up of 15 teams which included Loyola University, Spring Hill College, University of New Orleans, Southern University, Houston Christian University, University of the Incarnate Word, Southeastern Louisiana University, Nicholls State University, Prairie View A&M University, Midland College, East Texas A&M University, University of South Dakota, Texas Southern University, and Jackson State University.
The Tigers are back in action Nov. 17-19 when they compete in the SWAC Preview hosted by the Southwestern Athletics Conference at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley – Ridge Course in Birmingham, Alabama.
