Softball Captures Series Win In Regular Season Finale With 8-0 Shutout

LORMAN, Miss. - Texas Southern closed out its 2025 regular season with an 8-0 shutout at Alcorn State on Sunday.

Lanay Carr's first-inning double scored Kylee Wilson for a 1-0 lead. After a pair of scoreless innings, TSU broke the game open in the fourth as DaNia Durr scored off a fielding error followed by Kadriana Mincey's bases-loaded walk as she was hit by a pitch for a 2-0 margin. Marisa Perla drew a bases-loaded walk for a 3-0 margin followed by Lanay Carr's three-RBI single. Durr closed out the scoring for TSU in the inning with an RBI single as Carr scored.
 
Kylee Wilson recorded the shutout with two strikeouts while scattering four hits. Carr finished the game 2-for3 with one run and four RBI.
 
TSU is back in action at the 2025 SWAC Tournament in Gulfport, Miss. on Tuesday, May 6.
