LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Texas Southern Tigers fell to Louisville on the road 102-71Â despite great efforts by Derrick Griffin with 26 rebounds and 27 points by Trae Jefferson in his TSU debut, the Tigers were unable to overcome 11th-ranked Louisville.
TSU, dropped its fifth straight, but held the game close early on, forcing the Cardinals into a 4-for-21 start from the field.
The Tigers held a slim lead over the first few minutes of the game, but the Cardinals made 30 of its final 57 shots (53 percent) to finish at 44 percent from the field overall while TSU (4-5) was limited to 35 percent, which turned the tide against the Tigers as the contest progressed.
Griffin pulled down 15 offensive boards as he set a new NCAA single-game high in rebounds for this season while he also added 15 points. Dulani Robinson added 16 points, and Zach Lofton struggled, scoring only two points.
