CINCINNATI, Ohio- An ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 Derrick Griffin slam dunk electrified the crowd as the Texas Southern Tigers basketball team held their own against the Cincinnati Bearcats early in the contest.
Unfortunately, the Tigers were unable to hold on to that momentum in the second half as they fell to UC by a score of 96-58.
Trae Jefferson led all scorers with 13 points on a 4-of-20 shooting night from the field. Tyree Bynum added 10 points rounding out the list of TSU double digit scorers.
Texas Southern trailed 37-23 at the break after shooting 27 percent from the floor in the first half of play.
The Tigers will travel to face LSU on Saturday in Baton Rouge.
