JACKSON, Miss. -Â The Lady Tigers of Texas Southern defeated the Lady Tigers of Jackson State 54-46 Monday night at the Lee Williams AAC.
Briana Sidney led the way for TSU by scoring 12 points. She also added five rebounds and four steals. Kiana Vines recorded her first double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.
There was back and forth action the entire first half with the score tied three times. The biggest lead was by five points for either team. Going into the second half down by 4, Texas Southern quickly turned things around by scoring the first four points to tie the game.
With 2:24 remaining Texas Southern took its biggest lead of the entire game, 48-38. Jackson State fought to get back in the game, cutting the lead to five, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Tigers sealed the win.
