PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Texas Southern cruised to a 74-45 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Saturday night at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
Alexus Johnson recorded her fifth double-double this season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Brianna Sidney chipped in 13 points.Â
Morgan Simmons added 12 and Dana Jones pitched in 10. Destiny Brewton led UAPB in scoring with nine. Carlisha Walker pulled down 14 boards to lead the Lady Lions in rebounds.
TSU got things started on a 7-0 run three minutes into the game. With 4:59 left in the first half, the Lady Tigers took their biggest lead of the half by 24 points, 34-10. Texas Southern led at intermission 45-21.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff fought to get back in the game but couldn't stop the Lady Tigers offensively. TSU won the game by double digits behind a balanced scoring attack.Â
