GREENWOOD, Miss. - Texas Southern defeated Mississippi Valley 63-52 on Monday night.
Brianna Sidney recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Alexus Johnson also scored 14 points.
The Lady Tigers shot 35.1 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from the three-point range and 54.5 percent from the charity stripe.
As a team MVSU shot 35.1 percent from the field, 42.9 percent at the three-point line and 54.5 from the free-throw line.
The momentum was on Texas Southern's side the entire game, leading the way both halves. Mississippi Valley cut the lead to two points with a little over 12 minutes remaining in the game but that was as close as MVSU would get.
The win was Texas Southern fourth straight victory of the season.
