Box ScoreLAWRENCE, Kansas - Texas Southern women's basketball team fell 44-69 to Kansas University Tuesday night at the Allen Fieldhouse.
Morgan Simmons led the Lady Tigers with 11 points and Brianna Sidney added 10 points. TSU was held to 24 percent from the field, going 15-for-62, but shot 73 percent from the free throw line (11-for-15).
Both teams came out shooting strong, both scoring on their own respective possessions for the first few minutes of the game.
The Jayhawks went on a 24-5 run that lasted nearly 10 minutes. Texas Southern fought hard the remaining of the first half but couldn't bounce back. TSU went on a 7-0 run late in the second half but it wasn't enough to put them back in the game.
The Lady Tigers will return to the court Saturday, Nov. 22 in Fort Worth, Texas to take on TCU at 7:00 p.m.
