Ariel Alcoser joins the Texas Southern volleyball program as an assistant coach for the 2024-2025 season after serving as a volunteer assistant for the Tigers during the past two spring seasons.
A Houston native, Alcoser brings a high level of enthusiasm and expertise to the volleyball program in addition to significant local ties. Prior to joining the TSU volleyball staff, Alcoser coached at Episcopal High School in Bellaire, Texas where she helped guide the Knights to a Southwest Preparatory Conference State Championship in 2022 and a SPC State Championship Runner-up appearance in 2023. Alcoser also helped guide the St. Agnes Academy High School volleyball program to a TAPPS State Championship in 2021 and a State Runner-up appearance in 2020.
Active on the highly competitive club volleyball level in the Houston area, Alcoser served as both a head and assistant coach for Club Kaboom Volleyball’s 12U through 18U programs for over 10 years as she helped develop and mentored her players to reach their athletic and academic goals.
She is also an active participant in various volleyball camps and clinics across the country. Alcoser has worked at Genny Volpe’s volleyball camps at Rice University and the “Sports Imports” Blueprint Volleyball Coaches Clinic working alongside Stanford Head Coach Kevin Hambly, former University of Minnesota head coach and current Assistant Athletic Director Hugh McCutcheon, and Notre Dame’s head coach Salima Rockwell as a clinic coach and demonstrator.
As a student -athlete, Alcoser earned a scholarship and competed at Bacone College in Muskogee, Okla. as a libero/defensive specialist in addition to playing at Vernon College in Vernon, Texas as a defensive specialist.
Alcoser is a graduate of Texas Southern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies.
