Alexis Lloyd

A former standout player under head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, Alexis Lloyd is in her third season as an assistant coach at Texas Southern.

A native of Chicago, Ill, Lloyd played three seasons at Southern California under Cooper-Dyke. Playing the guard spot, Lloyd was a valuable player for the Trojans with roles as both a starter and reserve. As a redshirt junior, Lloyd had her best season as she started 15 of 31 games played with single game career highs in assists and rebounds. She closed out senior campaign with a single game career high in points as she saw action in 29 games.

Lloyd started her collegiate career at Virginia Tech and played one season for the Hokies. She saw action in 28 games with a career-high 11 points versus No. 16 North Carolina. Prior to enrolling at Virginia Tech, Lloyd was a four star recruit who was ranked in the top 100 nationally by ESPN HoopGurlz. She led Whitney Young High School to a number three ranking nationally and a state title.

She earned her bachelor’s in psychology from USC in 2016 and also played professionally with DePiro of the Malta Women's League.
