Tristan Badenhorst serves the Texas Southern Athletics Department as Academic Advisor for Tigers Football. She joined TSU in the spring of 2016 after working at the University of Houston as the Associate Director of Compliance and Assistant Director of Compliance (2013-16).

At UH she oversaw many aspects of the day-to-day compliance operations, including supervision of the Player Agent Program. Badenhorst, who is a native of Ashland, Ky., joined the Cougars after a 3-year stint at Western Kentucky as the Compliance Assistant.

There, she assisted in daily compliance operations and led educational meetings for Hilltopper coaches, staff, and student-athletes. As an undergraduate at Western Kentucky, Badenhorst worked as an assistant athletics trainer, primarily with the football team.

She received her bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2009. Following her graduation, she worked for a year in the WKU Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport Department as a graduate assistant.

Badenhorst received her Master's Degree in sports administration from Western Kentucky in May 2013 and was named the Outstanding Graduate Student in Recreation and Sport Administration.
