Manuel Garza was the top performer for TSU as the men's cross country team placed sixth at the Rice Invitational on Friday.
Garza ran a time of 16:50.8 in the 5.2K race, followed by David Livingston (17:04.9) and Jeremiah Barrera (16:55.6), as all placed in the top 30. Brandon Adolphus (18:00.7), Roberto Rodriguez (18:05.6), Gael Flores (18:13.3) and Bruce Prince (19:44.9).
The team is back in action Oct. 4 at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark.
