NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Texas Southern dropped an 8-0 decision at Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday.
TSU couldn't capitalize in the first with two runners on while SFA capitalized in the bottom frame with a three-run first. After pulling off the rare triple play in the second, TSU loaded the bases in the third but came up scoreless again.
SFA added two runs in the third and fourth frames and another in the fifth.
Destiny Menchaca and Penelope Saenz had hits for TSU while Kristen Driver pitched two innings as she got the start on the mound.
Due to weather, TSU will shift its softball series this weekend at Grambling State to Sunday (3 p.m.) and Monday (11 a.m. DH) in Ruston, La.
