ATLANTA - TSU's postseason run came to a disappointing end as the team fell to Alabama State in the first round of the 2025 SWAC Tournament.

TSU would trim the led down to one on two occasions over the next three minutes but ASU managed to answer with timely three-point shooting.

The Tigers finally managed tie the Hornets with 8:33 left after Jaylan Wysinger was fouled on a successful layup but his missed free throw led to another ASU three and a 62-59 deficit. An 8-2 ASU run from that point upped its lead back to 70-61 with 4:41 remaining but Zaire Hayes' three-pointer cut the margin to 70-64.

Two critical TSU turnovers on back-to-back possessions allowed ASU to extend its lead to 74-69 as the Hornets secured the win from the free throw line despite several late TSU charges.
