Lady Tigers Fall 1–0 in Hard-Fought Road Match at Prairie View

Prairie View, Texas — Texas Southern women's soccer closed out regular season play Friday night in a tightly contested 1–0 loss to Prairie View A&M at the Lady Panther Soccer Field.

Despite controlling much of the possession (58%) and outshooting the Lady Panthers 15–4, the Lady Tigers couldn't find the back of the net in a match defined by defensive intensity and clutch goalkeeping from Prairie View.

After a scoreless first half, Prairie View broke through in the 51st minute when Destini Twiggs scored off an assist from Niasia Goodwin, putting the Lady Panthers up 1–0. Texas Southern created numerous chances down the stretch — including eight shots on target and six corner kicks in the second half — but Prairie View goalkeeper Nenah Jackson turned in a standout performance, recording eight saves to preserve the shutout.

Emeyda Cruz and Kamara Bradley led the Lady Tigers offensively, combining for seven total shots and five on goal. Goalkeeper Alessandra Bastidas played all 90 minutes in net for TSU.

With the result, Texas Southern moves to 7–7–4 overall and 5–2–1 in SWAC play, while Prairie View improves to 5–10–2 (4–3–1 SWAC).
