Tigers Score In Bunches In Win Over Alcorn State

LORMAN, Miss. – Alexander Olivo and Michael Goudeau combined for six RBI as TSU baseball opened its road series at Alcorn State with a 9-2 win on Friday.
 
Alcorn State claimed a 1-0 lead after the first but TSU quickly countered in the second as Michael Goudeau hit a two-RBI double and eventually scored on an ASU throwing error for the 3-0 lead.  Daalen Adderley opened the third with a double and Olivo homered for a 5-1 lead. Goudeau opened the fourth with a bunt single and scored after Olivo drew a bases loaded walk. Roderick Coffee hit a sac fly to score Noah Butler for the 7-1 margin.
 
Goudeau's bunt single in the fifth scored Chase Cromer while CJ Castillo's RBI double brought home Goudeau as TSU led 9-1. Alcorn State added a run in the ninth but it wouldn't hurt as TSU wrapped up the win.
 
Goudeau had three hits, three RBI and three runs scored on a 3-for-4 night. Abraham Deleon won his fifth straight as he struck out seven in six innings of action.
 
The series resumes at 3 p.m. tomorrow.
