Tigers Fall In Final Day Of Cactus Jack HBCU Classic

A big inning by Southern broke open a close game as TSU baseball fell 11-1 in the finale of the 2023 Cactus Jack HBCU Classic at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

Southern led 2-0 after the first but scored six in the second to lead 8-0. TSU scored once in the fifth but SU answered with a run in the bottom frame for a 9-1 margin. SU crossed home runs in the sixth and seventh for the final margin as the run-rule was in effect.

TSU is back in action against Wiley for a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday at MacGregor Park.
