LUBBOCK, Texas – The Tigers of Texas Southern University gave a pair of respectable showings in losses at No. 2-ranked Texas Tech this week.

The Red Raiders won Tuesday's contest by a score of 8-4 before Wednesday afternoon's game 14-7.

In the series opener, the Red Raiders jumped out to a comfortable lead before Jose Camacho's RBI double in the sixth scored Gaudencio Lucca. Ricky Urbano also tallied an RBI double in the ninth inning.

Horace LeBlanc and Gerrick Jimenez both went 2-for-4 in the opener. LeBlanc and Jeremy Thomas also notched ninth-inning RBIs.

In Wednesday's contest, Richard Alamo went 2-for-4 with three RBIs for the Tigers, while Jimenez knocked a two-RBI double in the top of the seventh inning.

With Texas Southern idle from Southwestern Athletic Conference play this weekend, the Tigers will travel to Thibodaux, La., for a three-game series at Nicholls State. Friday's game between the Tigers and Colonels is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
