HOUSTON- Texas Southern lost a 33-7 decision to the Southern Jaguars at home on Saturday. SU scored first on a 71-yard touchdown rush in the first quarter taking a 7-0 advantage.  
 
Southern extended the lead to 13-0 on a pair of field goals by halftime.
 
SU subsequently added points on a 10-yard touchdown pass and returned a punt 74 yards for scores as the Jaguars went up 26-0 by the close of the third quarter.
 
The Tigers got on the board when quarterback Elijah Odum ran it in from 11 yards away with 14:20 remaining in the fourth quarter.  Southern capped the scoring on a two-yard touchdown run later in the fourth. 
For the game defensive back Archie Rice led the Tigers in tackles as he posted a total of 13 stops including one pass break-up.
 
The Tigers will get set to travel to play their final road outing of the season versus Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday, November 18
th.
