HOUSTON-Texas Southern collected a 3-0 sweep over Huston-Tillotston on Tuesday at HPE Arena winning with set scores of 25-11, 25-17, and 26-24. Texas Southern improves to 2-8 on the season as Huston-Tillotson moves to 1-5.
Robyn Shannon paced Texas Southern with eight kills and a solo block while Chelsea Thompson dished out 22 assists and five digs. Asia Howard had 12 assists while Allison Woods collected 10 digs. Texas Southern finished the match with 42 kills, 14 assists, and 94 attempts.
Huston-Tillotson raced out to a lead in the third set but the Lady Tigers battled back to tie the game before eventually taking the lead and the match.
Texas Southern heads to Phoenix, Ariz., to participate in the Arizona State Tournament on Sept. 18-19.
