PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas- There was without a doubt no shortage of runs this past weekend as the Texas Southern Tigers traveled to face the Prairie View A&M Panthers in Southwestern Athletic Conference action at Tankersly Field.
TSU defeat PVAMU 26-18 in game one and 17-11 in game three.
Texas Southern feel behind 7-0 in game one of the series after two innings but battle back to take a win over Prairie View. The 26 runs scored by Texas Southern mark the most runs scored in a contest this season.
A total of four Tigers had three RBIs in the game as Zach Welz, Ryan Lazo, Javier Valdez, and Zach Howell lead the charge for TSU offensively.
Larry Ramero got the win while Seth Oliver picked up a save for Texas Southern on the mound in relief.
Texas Southern dropped game two of the series 16-6 before rallying to win the series with a 17-11 win in the finale.
TSU scored 11 unanswered runs in the contest. By the end of the series the two teams had combined to score 94 total runs.
Devin Konarik started and pitched five innings to get the win for Texas Southern. He exited prior to the sixth inning. Frank Cruz IV picked up a four-inning save for the Tigers.
Texas Southern will face Houston Baptist on Wednesday in the final regular season game for the Tigers.Â
