Iona defeats Texas Southern 83-73

HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Tigers lost a 83-73 decision to Iona on Wednesday. Orlando Coleman paced the Tigers offensive attack scoring 23 points on a 7-of-8 shooting night from the floor.

Chris Thomas added 18 points as he went 8-of-16 from the floor. Texas Southern trailed 38-34 at halftime.

TSU never led in the contest. However, late in the game, a Derrick Griffin dunk trimmed Iona's lead to 72-69 with 4:18 to play. 

Jahaad Proctor hit two free throws for Iona to make it 74-69 before Griffin's 3-point play made it 74-72.
