Women’s Golf Sits in Second After Day 2 of PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship

West Palm Beach, FL – The Texas Southern Women's Golf Team sits in 2nd place on 626 (310 + 316) after round two at the PGA Works Collegiate Championship on Tuesday.

Junior, Thaiz Amezcua leads the way for the Tigers and is tied in second place individually on eight-over-par 150 (74 – 76). Amezcua's 5-over-par second round included an eagle, a birdie, 10 pars, and six bogeys, and she remains at one shot off the lead.

Freshmen Carmen Pate sits tied in 11th place on 157 (77 – 80), while Zufan Girard is two shots back on 159 (78 – 81). Junior, Shawnise Gregory had a solid second round and sits on 160 (81 – 79).

The PGA Works Collegiate Championship will be hosted at The Park. The Women's Team Division will have six competing teams, including Alabama State University, Chicago State University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, and Texas Southern University.

The tournament format includes 54 holes over three days, with the final round beginning at 8:25 a.m. ET for the Tigers.
