FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Texas Southern men's track & field team wrapped up its season at the NCAA Division I Men's & Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Joshua Brown, Braylon Carr, and Ahmad Muhammad earned their way to Fayetteville for the first time in their career as Brown competed in the 100 while Muhammad and Carr earned berths in the triple jump.
Competing on Friday, Muhammad jumped a personal outdoor-best 50-11 feet in the triple jump. The Tomball, Texas native set the mark on his first attempt as his final marks were 49-6.25 and 48-10.75 feet, respectively. Carr closed out the meet with a mark of 49-8.5 feet as The Woodlands native also set the mark on his first attempt before closing out the meet with a 49-0.75 mark on his final attempt.
Brown advanced to the quarterfinal round of the prelims on Friday after opening the meet with a mark of 10.25 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the New Orleans, La. native's opportunity to earn a spot at the national meet fell short after an injury sustained at the beginning of the quarterfinal round. Despite the setback, Brown closed his freshman season out with the fastest 100-meter time at TSU in more than a decade.
