TARLETON STATE 8, TSU 0
Tarleton State scored three times in the first inning and rode the momentum to an 8-0 win on Saturday.

Freshman Kylee Wilson led the game off with a single and moved to second after a sac bunt but couldn't move further as a groundout and strikeout ended the inning. Tarleton State loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom frame and drove in three runs after a sac fly and RBI double.

TSU had two runners on in the second and fourth innings but couldn't capitalize. Tarleton State tacked on three more runs in the fourth for a 7-0 margin and another in the fifth for the final score.
Madison Battle led the way with two hits (2-for-2) while Melonie Guardiola was tagged with the loss on the mound after throwing 3.1 innings.

NEW MEXICO 10, TSU 5
New Mexico jumped out to an early lead and held off a late charge as TSU dropped a 10-5 decision Saturday afternoon.

TSU once again had an early opportunity to score in the opening frame as Kylee Wilson and Marisa Perla both reached base but New Mexico forced two strikeouts and a popout to end the threat. The Lobos used a three-run homer to move ahead 3-0 after the first and added three more in the second on two outs to lead 6-0.

TSU's Lanay Carr drove in the team's first run as her RBI groundout brought home Kadriana Mincey in the fourth but the Lobos responded with three more in the bottom half to lead 9-1. A three-run fifth by TSU cut the deficit to 9-4 as Amerie Martin and Wilson scored on wild pitches followed by DaNia Durr's two-RBI double to score Karisma Garcia.

Both teams traded runs in the fifth and sixth innings as Carr homered for the final 10-5 margin.

Wilson and Durr both finished with two hits while Carr drove in two RBI. Kaelani Randle fell to 0-2 on the season in three innings of mound action.
