For the 12th straight year, the TSU softball team has earned the top seed out of the SWAC West in the SWAC Tournament as they'll face Jackson State at 3 p.m. on Tuesday in Gulfport, Miss.
Both teams will meet for the first time since the 2019 SWAC Tournament and for the 13th time in 10 years as TSU holds a 9-3 mark. TSU enters the tournament looking for its first SWAC Championship since 2017 as this year's tournament marks the postseason debut of Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M from the SWAC East.
The tournament will be played in a double-elimination format with action set to start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday with games slated to run through May 13. If necessary, the final tournament championship game has been scheduled for Saturday, May 14
