Softball Sets The Tone Early In Win At UAPB

PINE BLUFF, Ark. – TSU softball opened its three-game series at Arkansas-Pine Bluff with a 5-1 win on Friday.
 
TSU wasted no time in setting the tone with a three-run first as Tierrah Williams and Madison Battle both drew bases loaded walks while Jordan McClain scored on a passed ball. Both teams went scoreless until the sixth as Tevanae Tate scored on a wild pitch for a 4-0 lead. Williams would hit a sac fly in the seventh as McClain scored.
 
UAPB would hit a solo homer in the seventh for its lone run of the game.
 
McClain went 3-for-4 with two runs while Tierrah Wiliams had two RBI. Jazmine Gendorf struck out four in a complete-game effort while only allowing three hits.
 
The series resumes at 1 p.m. Saturday.
