Box Score HOUSTON– Texas Southern fell short in a pitcher's duel, as the Lady Tigers' eight-game win streak was snapped in a 2-1 setback versus Lamar.
Lauren Rodriguez (10-8) surrendered a solo home run to Kelly Meeuwsen in the first, but she and Jasmine Fulmore largely kept the Cardinals in check before Lamar scored on a wild pitch.
An Anisha Richardson ground-rule double plated Miranda Rodarte to cut the deficit in half, but the Tigers (23-16) stranded two runners in the inning.
In the seventh, TSU had a chance with runners at second and third, but the Lady Tigers came up empty.
Rodriguez allowed four hits and issued three walks in 4.0 innings, receiving the loss on her ledger.
