GRAMBLING, La. – Texas Southern's Lauren Rodriguez and Jasmine Fulmore combined to no-hit Grambling State in a 9-1 win for the Lady Tigers.
Rodriguez (10-7) picked up the win despite pitching just the opening inning. Grambling State's lone run came on miscues in the circle, as Rodriguez inadvertently struck two Callie Durgan and Kendalyn Arceneaux with a pitch and a passed ball moved Durgan to third. A lineout by Hailey Haynes allowed Durgan to score.
The Lady Tigers offense awoke to handle the rest from the fourth inning on, as an Anisha Richardson two-run single keyed four straight innings of scoring for TSU, who is fresh off clinching the western division for the fifth-straight year.
Krystalani Yockman and Briana Simpson each went 2-for-4, with Yockman scoring two runs. Fulmore struck out five in 6.0 innings of no-hit work.
